For several years Diana Taylor drove me to and from our Rotary meetings at the Westfield YMCA. We always had a fun chat about family and her favorite occupation the band and somethimes about her experiences as a school nurse on those short trips. Who could have guessed our worlds would change so much in such a short time. Diana will be missed.

I got to know Diana through the Rotary Club and enjoyed the conversations we had. I recall seeing her at the SAR/ Community Band July 4 concerts but didn’t know her then. I was member of a group of retired men who met for breakfast every other Thursday at the Rustic Mill and often she would be there with friends and we would chat for a short time. What a wonderful lady she was!

I've known Diana for over 30 years -- she played the big bass drum in the Westfield Community Band -- here is one of my favorite photos of her that I took -- she always had a smile! She really gave back to the community in so many ways -- she played in 2 community Bands, was active in the Rotary, and I recollect her volunteering at a shelter in Cranford in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. She often spoke of her years as a nurse (during WWII) and a social worker. She loved dogs and had adopted several from shelters. My condolences to her children and grandchildren. Diana will truly be missed by many.

I met Diane years ago while soliciting for mortgage business. Sweet lady. Very big hearted. She was very proud of her son and daughter. Sad to hear she passed.

Diana was always so up beat and positive. The first woman to join the Westfield Rotary Club in 1988. She was the second longest member in Rotary.

Diana was a Rotarian and proud that she was one of the first women to join. She was always smiling and I enjoyed getting to know her. She loved playing in the Community Band and was very proud to be a WWII veteran. She was such an extraordinary person - our club grieves losing her. Thank you Diana for always living up to "Service Above Self." You set such a good example for all Rotarians. Your smile and presence will be sorely missed.

Diana was one of the first women to join the Rotary Club of Westfield. She joined on Sept 1, 1988, and has been active ever since. Rotary had just changed their policy in 1988, and decided to admit women. Her daughter Karen joined first, then sponsored her mom. Diana was a wonderful person, very altruistic and dedicated to the Rotary Club. She had perfect attendance up to recently, and participated in many of the club projects and fundraisers which benefited the community. Diana was also active in the Community Band, which the Rotary Club helped support. She was very highly thought of, and had many friends in the club. The club honored Diana with the Rotarian of the Year Award in 2009, and also a Paul Harris Fellow. She will be missed.
