Olive participated in numerous activities in the Westfield Women's Club and YWCA, Pinochle and Bridge Clubs and the Roselle Women's Golf Tournaments. Olive enjoyed spending summer vacations with her family at South Seaside Park and Long Beach Island, and visiting her brother-in-law, Gustav Granitzki, and his family in Manteo, NC and especially enjoyed visits with her children and grandchildren.
Olive and her late husband, Elmer, enjoyed winter vacations golfing with friends at Calloway Gardens, Pine Mt. Georgia for over 25 years. She was also a long time member of Roselle Golf Club since 1983. Olive was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Cranford where she was baptized and married Elmer on March 31, 1950.
Olive was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by Elmer, her husband of 65 years and her brother Robert B. Anger. Olive is survived by her three children: daughter, Bonnie and husband, Stewart Gold, of NC and grandchildren, Joanne and Jennifer; son, James and wife, Katherine, of NJ and grandchildren, Rich and wife Melissa and great-granddaughter, Ella Jane; James Jr. and wife, Kristen and Patrick and wife, Lanea; and son, David and wife, Judith, of NJ and grandchildren, Kelsie, and Alison Johnson and husband, Mike Grim.
Olive always had a smile for everyone, everywhere she went. She was always happy, grateful, and full of love and devotion to her family. Her family near and far celebrated many memorable Birthdays, Thanksgivings and Christmases around her dining room table. We will always cherish the amazing woman she was and she will always be a part of who we all are today.
