Obituary

Paul Kaiser, 67, of Cranford, NJ passed away on Saturday, October 27th after a steadfast fight following emergency surgery. Paul was born May 18, 1951 to Cranford residents Fred and June Kaiser, where he lived and attended grades K-12 before going on to graduate from Lebanon Valley College with his Bachelor's in Education in 1973.

Over the years, Paul lived out his passion for education through teaching English and Drama at Kent County High School in Maryland and David Brearley High School and Jonathan Dayton High School in NJ. As he aged, Paul held tight to his love for being in the classroom by leading GED classes at Union County College.

While living in Maryland, Paul enjoyed time with his first wife, Cindi, and his son Shaun, especially sailing and crabbing along the Chesapeake. It was in Maryland where Paul found his calling for the arts and truly left his mark on the students of Kent County High School.

Upon returning to Cranford, NJ, he married Pamela and raised their daughter, Lisa. Paul and Lisa were often referred to as the perfect daddy daughter duo, as they shared a mutual love for education, silly reality tv shows, and Bruce Springsteen.

In his free time, Paul enjoyed photography, riding his bicycle, studying WWII and jotting down music lyrics and movie lines that resonated with him. He was always the center of entertainment on rainy days during annual family trips to Cape May.

To family, students, and friends alike, Paul instilled a sense of love and acceptance wherever he went. His contagious laugh, zest for life and unconditional support are just a few of the things that will be missed most about Paul.

Paul is survived by his devoted mother, June and sister, Christina. Also surviving are his loving children, Shaun and Lisa Rose, their spouses Najmeh and Philip, his step-daughter Aimee and nephew, Liam.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for November 17th, 10:30am at Calvary Lutheran Church, 108 Eastman Street in Cranford, NJ. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, 1 Center Street, Newark, NJ 07102 in honor of Paul and his love for the arts.
